Ho do I get rid of Antivira AV?

Ive always heard not to use system restore because it will restore old viruses back onto your machine. You should try rebooting into safe mode and you might be able to run your AV software and get rid of the virus that way. If not then you will probably have to reformat and reinstall your OS.
