How do I hook up a wireless modem using a usb modem?

I am wanting to hook up a wireless router so that I do not have to hook up multiple Ethernet cords. I have a USB modem through Verizon wireless. Is there any way to do this, or is there anything that I can use to hook up multiple Ethernet cords to my computer. My laptop only has one port. Please help!!!!!
