Why can't people accept that the person who appears normal is really a psycho?

People know that psychos can appear to be 'normal'. That doesn't make everybody who is 'normal' a psycho, though, does it? I would assume that it is their everyday demeanours that make these people so dangerous. Al Bundy was a nice guy.
