How to pull my wireless signal from one to another?

I pay for wireless internet, and I use the internet card on my desktop. I have a new laptop that is to new for the internet card to work. How can I pull the wirelss signal from the card on the desktop to my laptop? I pick up signals from my neighbors but not my own?
