IPod Touch 1st Gen not syncing... HELP MEE!!!!!!!!?

I have a 1st generation iPod Touch 8GB running the 3.0 software and it doesn't show up. I'm using mac snow leopard with an imac and ive tried to restart the computer and different usb ports but still nothing. Please help, 5 star rating goes to the more helpful... thanks
