Does every soundcard support MIDI?

My friend wants me to build him a computer and all the other parts are fine but he's really into music producing and has keyboards he'd like to use with his computer and he says the sound card MUST have MIDI output. I'm not exactly sure what he means by this. Is there an actual existing MIDI port that you plug things into, does every sound card have this or just the high end ones?

I have just had a problem about the same as yours. In my desktop I have installed a new Belkin 2.0 usb pci card some time ago. I was haveing trouble with a ac powered hub at the time. It keeped shutting off which messed up the drivers for my belkin usb card. I went to the windows help forum and they told me to uninstall the drivers for my usb card shut my machine down then remove the usb pci card from my machine. Then restart the machine without it. Then shutdown reinstall the card the drivers reinstalled auto. Doing this fixed the problem for me. hope this helps

I have my modem turned off and my data connection disabled on my computer, and my computer still shows that it is connected to a mysterious public network. I just got finished configuring my firewall to block "commonly hacked ports". After I rebooted, half of the ports I just blocked are now showing enabled, and yes, this is with my modem turned off. I have a Hp G60t-200 CTO laptop and have had it for about 1 1/2 years now. Recently the 6 cell battery went out on me and only held a 40% capacity. Why can't i put music on my iphone?

I bought a new laptop and transferred all my files (including my music library) from my old laptop onto my new. I used Microsoft Easy Transfer. I also deauthorized my itunes account from my old laptop before I reinstalled an new OS on it. Then I authorized my itunes account on my new laptop, and synced my iPhone 4 with it. Now, I'd like to just drag and drop music into my iPhone like I used to, but it won't let me. If I go to the phone tab, I can tell it to sync with my iPhone, but then it warns that all playlists and music will be removed from the phone. Will replacing 10/100 switches with GB switches make our network problems better or worse?

We have about 4 locations connected to our branch via Router to Router VPN all users in outside locations use RDP to connect to our Terminal server for business applications and use Outlook on their desktop. We have our servers connected to a gigabit switch which is daisy chained off another gigabit switch that is connected to the gigabit port on our router. We have some users plugged into the gigabit switch closest to the router. then we have 2 more 10/100 switches daisy chained one off another from the gigabit router a 24 and 16 port switch. The sales has a 24 port switch near them and then engineering has a 24 port switch near them all 10/100. The warehouse has a 16 port switch near them all daisy chained off the 24 10/100 switch closest to the router. Sales, Engineering and the Warehouse have very slow ping times averaging 230milli. Some people can't even connect to the network because they can't reach the dhcp server for an address. I'll be improving the topology of it soon but was wondering would replacing all 10/100 switches not only fix our problem but improve speed or would it make problems worse because they can all connect to the servers at a faster speed therefor slowing things down even more? I'm guessing the main problem is the 24 port old 3com 10/100 switch that we have but I'm to any other idea's and possibilities of the high ping time and connectivity issue.

What is wrong with my laptop charger and computer?

When I turn my laptop on plugged into my charger, it starts to make this screeching high pitched piercing noise that drives me freaking INSANE! It stops when I unplug it but it almost sounds like its still there when I put my ear down to my keyboard and I listen really closely but I can't tell. Maybe it's just my paranoia towards it. Is there something wrong with my laptop or charger or BOTH?! Should I invest in a new one of either?

I have just had a problem about the same as yours. In my desktop I have installed a new Belkin 2.0 usb pci card some time ago. I was haveing trouble with a ac powered hub at the time. It keeped shutting off which messed up the drivers for my belkin usb card. I went to the windows help forum and they told me to uninstall the drivers for my usb card shut my machine down then remove the usb pci card from my machine. Then restart the machine without it. Then shutdown reinstall the card the drivers reinstalled auto. Doing this fixed the problem for me. hope this helps

Amp, Sub, Wiring Help?

So I have a JL audio 12" w3 2 Ohm subwoofer in a ported box connected to a 500 watt alpine amp. This thing pounds until i turn it up and then it sucks in the low department. 6 guage wire for everything. I was thinking about upgrading the amp or sub but cant decide which one. Single sub setup is only possibility. If i upgrade the amp how would it sound? What if I upgrade both the sub and amp to like a 1000 watt amp and type r at 2 ohms would that bang? Would i get that crazy vibration feeling? What amp or sub should i get? Do i need to upgrade the wiring?

okay, so, every time i plug my ipod into my laptop itunes doesnt come up; i have to click it on the desktop thing to get it open. then when i click 'sync' it says its syncing on itunes but not on my ipod so then i take my ipod out of my laptop because it wont sync and then taking it out makes itunes freeze. when i try to re-open itunes after ive closed it because it froze, it wont let me. it just wont open no matter how many times i click it. ive tried to restart my computer, shut it down and start it again, and ive uninstalled then reinstalled itunes also. so if somebody could help me with this that be great because its pissing me off.

Dell d620 AC Issue: Won't recognize its plugged in.?

Ok, I think I know what happened. When you updated to the new OS, it basically wiped your iPod. That's why I have been putting off upgrading because I need to back up all of my songs and stuff first. Do you have a backup on iTunes, CDs, or a flashdrive or something? If not, there is another way to recover all of the purchased apps and songs and other things. Sign in on iTunes on your computer, and go to Store> Check for Available Downloads. This should give you all of your stuff back. If not, contact iTunes because they will help you. Unfortunately, all of music you did not get from iTunes cannot be recovered unless you have them saved elsewhere. I hope I helped you! Good luck!

So anyways all of a sudden i turned on my ps2 and it on a continuous scroll. Than i took out both controllers and i noticed that one of them the inside one of the wires are missing in the usb port. Basically when you unplug the controller one of the pieces on the inside of the cord you see is missing. So than i put my other controller the first one on the second one while at the browser menu and nothing moved. So now obviously the controller is broken since that piece is missing but is the 2nd port also broken or if i bought another controller things will be fine. I played a game just fine for 5 min with no problem.

The serial number is 94925 and ive tried researching it and got no were. On the bell it says boosey and hawkes 8-10 and on the body it says the edgware. How old is it and how much cud i get out of it cus its in pretty good shape
