Is there a software that scans for flash drives?

i am looking for a software ON MAC OS X that can scan for flashdrives connected to the iMac but are not visible-ish. my flash drive fell down today and now it doesn't appear in the right side of my mac or in the finder under devices. i plugged it in every port on my iMac. plugged it in like 100000 times.but still nothing came up.is there something i can do, like take it apart. i cant send it to some computer guy or store or whatever s**t. its a kingston data traveller 8 GB and i have TOO MUCH IMPORTANT FILES ON IT TO JUST THROW IT AWAY AND BUY A NEW ONE. thank u.
