Will removing a laptop hard drive void its warranty?

I want to make sure my hard drive is what's messed up on my laptop and nothing else and I just wanted to make sure that removing the drive and putting it in my mothers same model laptop wouldn't void the warranties or damage her computer. We both have HP 9700 laptops.
